NOTICE: The guild is not looking for tanks at the present time. Applications for classes who are willing to dual-spec Healing/DPS or re-spec to Healing/DPS will be considered on a case by case basis. The guild is also running close to filling all of our DPS slots for raiding purposes, applications for DPS positions will considered on a case by case basis.

So let me guess, you asked someone about the guild and they told you to come here and read this post right? Well so far you're doin pretty good! Sit back, relax... go use the bathroom or refill that soda (and be sure to use the bathroom later because youre going to be here awhile) and start reading the massive amount of text below.

About the guild:

Whats a NeenerNeener?
NeenerNeener is a guild that got its start from an Everquest 2 guild called Scarlet Horizon. We've played, laughed, cried and screamed at each other for 2-7 years
through various games. Many of us have formed lasting real world friendships in addition to the tight groups we've formed in game.

We actively use our message boards (which are freaking sweet btw!), and encourage the use of Ventrilo for almost everything.

What should i expect from NeenerNeener?
Want to be in the most uber raid guild that has ever graced the face of Azeroth? Want to hit the top raid zones and get every single raid set imaginable? NeenerNeener probably isnt for you.

Now, if you want to be in a guild that has (mostly) mature players that know how to have a good time with each other, we might be what youre looking for. Keep in mind though that we have known each other for awhile now and it may be hard for newer people to come in and get to know everyone. We're not trying to put you off by saying that, just trying to be open and honest. With time and effort on our part and yours, we feel practically anyone can be assimilated into our whacky culture.

So youre saying youre not going to raid?

No we're not saying that at all! We will raid and we will be pretty damned good at it. What we are saying is that raiding will not consume our lives. We're also not in a huge hurry to get to the end game. We're going to keep playing the game at our own pace and have as much fun while doing so as possible.

Do you guys use a DKP system?

In short; no, we do not use a DKP system. Our system is a basic Need before Greed with a small dose of discussion thrown in. Some may compare it to a Loot Council of sorts but we prefer to look at it like we're putting the stuff where we will get the most use out of it instead of promoting the competitiveness that a DKP system sometimes promotes. The NeenerNeener Raiding Guidelines post in the Events and Schedules forum outlines our specific loot guidelines.

How much help should i expect from my fellow guildmates?
None. Now honestly we have some very friendly and helpful people in our guild but its help that they volunteer on their own and in their own free time. Need help on a quest? First you should probably ask in the zone youre in, there is usually someone else in the zone that needs exactly what youre needing and is more readily available. Still need help? Ask once in guild. Odds are good that one of those friendly people i mentioned will run to your aid. Everyone seems to be busy? Come to the boards and ask for some help that way. People get busy in game and dont read guildchat or just cant get free. Its not that we dont like you, its just that we're already in the middle of something. If you've asked in zone, asked in guildchat once and posted on the boards, someone will help you... we promise!

What's with all the chicken talk around here?
Its an inside joke and considered top secret information. We should kill you for even asking!

I'm not really big on applying to join a guild on account of the fact that i'm all uber and whatnot, do i still have to?
EVERYONE who joins the guild must do so by signing up for the forums and applying. There are no exceptions allowed, even if all of the Gods of Azeroth have blessed your playing ability themselves. In addition to making sure everyone has access to a place where they can chit chat, this procedure also filters out some people who just like to guild hop, the message boards and this application is all a part of that security system. If you refuse to do it, we'll refuse membership and you can feel free to stop reading right..... now.

OK, so you guys seem like a group i can hang out with, how do i get started?

Procedure for New Applicants:

  • 1. Interested party posts on the boards using the form below.
  • 2. It is then THEIR responsibility to contact a Neener to group with.
  • 3. In the meantime, Members may or may not contact the applicant just to talk to them.
  • 4. The Neener (if they so choose) may decide to Sponsor the Applicant by replying in the recruit's post (notes about sponsoring are located in the post below).
  • 5. The new Applicant can then be invited into the guild on a 4 week probation.
  • 6. The new Applicant is then reviewed by the officers and will be promoted to Member providing that there are no issues with the Applicant.
  • Should the new member not work out, the person who vouched for them will be ineligible to vouch for any new member for one month.

So wait a minute, i have to look for people to group with? Why do i have to do that, why dont you do it for me? Also, how do i even find Neeners to group with?

Well to answer the first part, a member will have to sponsor you... youre going to be their responsibility. Sure an officer may talk to you but in the end a current member is going to be the one that will really have the largest say in whether you get into the guild or not. How do you find neeners? Type /who NeenerNeener and you'll see all the Neeners that are online. Look for someone your level and introduce yourself. Offer to help them with a quest or whatever else theyre working on.

What if they dont want to group with me?
Umm... well, try someone else. Members are not obligated to sponsor new people unless they want to.

I have a wife/husband that would have to come along with me.
If we're going to invite you into the guild, we might as well invite your loved one as well. However, your spouse will of course need to be registered on the boards and fill out the application just like you did. The only difference is, your spouse does not need to have a sponsor.

What if im an immediate household family member of a current member?
Thats a bit easier, since you literally live with one of our members in the real world, that member can thump you in the head if you get out of line!
Immediate Household Family of current Members follow the steps below.

Procedure for Immediate Household Family of Current Members:

    * Immediate Household Family member of Current Guild Member posts their desire to join
    * Immediate Household Family member of the applicant vouches for the member
    * Auto invite with no probation
    * Note that the guild is not required to keep you on board just because you are living with one of our members!

Now that i've done all that stuff, i'm in...... right?

In short, no. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to refuse new members. Following the above steps will only alert members and officers of your interest in joining the guild, it does not assure you a place in the honored Hall of Neener™! We may refuse membership for any reason that seems.... well, reasonable. Applicants must be fairly active during their probation period so the guild has the chance to get to know the Applicant (if someone is asked about an Applicant and 9 out of 10 Neeners say "who dat?" its a pretty good sign that the Applicant hasnt been on enough). Reports from other guilds about nefarious deeds may also lead to a thanks but no thanks from the guild. Additionally, the guild also reserves the right to extend the Applicant phase by another month if it sounds like a good idea. Just play like you normally play, dont be a jerk (or jerkette) and you should be fine.

So you've read all of that but youre not done yet! You need to copy the short form below. After doing that you will want to make a new post in the Admissions section

Well done good Sir or Madam as the case may be! You've figured out that the power to recruit is in your hands!

There are a couple of guidelines that Sponsors must abide by, listed in no particular order of importance:
  • Sponsors must be at least 18 years old.
  • Sponsors must be a Member in good standing.
  • Sponsors should be quite familiar with guild policies and able to explain those policies to the Applicant.
  • Sponsors should have play time similar to the Applicant.
  • Sponsors must be aware of the risks involved with sponsoring an Applicant.
  • Sponsors should be willing to sponsor an Applicant without pressure from fellow guild members.
  • Sponsors may remove the sponsorship of an Applicant if it is deemed acceptable by the Leadership.

I'll explain each point individually:

Sponsors must be at least 18 years old.
An Applicant may be of any age so long as the Neener that agreed to sponsor them is over 18 years of age.

Sponsors must be a Member in good standing.
Only Members can be Sponsors. Applicants cant sponsor another Applicant. Members who are on probation (for whatever reason, like maybe sponsoring someone that was removed from the guild by the Officers) are not eligible.

Sponsors should be quite familiar with guild policies and able to explain those policies to the Applicant.
No, you dont have to be able to quote Article 13, Section B, Subsection 2 from the NeenerNeener Book of Absolute Laws. You should however be able to explain how our loot system works and have a vague idea in regards to any other policy that an Applicant might pop up and ask (like how long they have to be an Applicant for because they obviously didnt read the whole Applicant post).

Sponsors should have play time similar to the Applicant.
This does not mean that you have to play every single second that the Applicant plays. It does mean that you should be someone who plays around the general time that the Applicant plays. If you're playing during the day and the Applicant only plays at night, its not a good idea for either of you.

Sponsors must be aware of the risks involved with sponsoring an Applicant.
Public beatings, private spanking sessions, server-wide ridicule.... all things that might happen to you if your Applicant turns out to be a butt head. On a moderately more serious note, if your Applicant is removed from the guild by the Guild leadership for violating one of the guild policies (either written or unwritten), you're not going to be able to sponsor someone else for a month. Additionally, if your Applicant has had their applicant period increased another month, you are still their sponsor and that makes you ineligible to sponsor someone else.

Sponsors should be willing to sponsor an Applicant without pressure from fellow guild members.
No one in the guild has the ability to MAKE you sponsor someone. You should be willing to sponsor an Applicant all on your own without pressure from any of your guildmates. This doesnt mean that you cant ask a guild member to talk to a potential applicant but it does mean that badgering a guild member into sponsoring an Applicant is a no no.

Sponsors may remove the sponsorship of an Applicant if it is deemed acceptable by the Leadership.
Only do this if it seems like there is no other option. We all make mistakes, maybe this Applicant was actually Mr Liar McLiesO'Lot in disguise and was hellbent on being a dink when they joined the guild to make us look bad. Maybe you caught them cussing out everyone in /Trade chat and after you told them that its frowned upon for Neeners to do that they told you to go get bent. Perhaps you discovered that the Applicant actually had a pimp and works the streets of Azeroth as a loot whore, taking what they can get before leaving to spread their infestation to some other guild. Inform an Officer or the Guild Leader that you no longer wish to be their Sponsor and the matter will be discussed. If the Applicant is removed at this point you may sponsor another Applicant after a period of time has passed that is equal to the amount of time your former Applicant was in the guild.

It will not be deemed acceptable if you just want to remove your sponsorship from an Applicant if you simply just want to sponsor someone that you think is better or maybe prettier. Capiche?
